RETAINERS

Retainers are a boring yet extremely vital part of your orthodontic treatment.  Retainers are necessary to ensure that all the good work that the braces have done to straighten your teeth is not undone.  After your braces are removed you will need to be fitted with either a bonded (fixed) retainer or a removable one.  We will advise you on the best option based upon your treatment needs and the likelihood of your teeth returning to their original position.  The reason that retainers are so crucial post braces treatment is that teeth have a tendency to want to shift back to their original position and it takes time for your connective tissue to adjust to its new position.

BONDED RETAINERS

A bonded retainer can also be known as a fixed retainer and is a non-removable retainer treatment.  A very thin wire that is not visible when you smile is bonded to the back of your front teeth to stop them from moving position after the removal of braces.  Bonded retainers are ideal for situations where we have a concern that your teeth are particular prone to wanting to re-adjust themselves.  They are an ideal solution because they are hidden and can be worn for a long time.

REMOVABLE CLEAR RETAINERS

Our removable clear retainers are custom made by our specially chosen laboratory to give you the highest standard on the market.  These retainers work by fitting tightly against your teeth and not allowing them to move.  These retainers are extremely discreet and can be worn all day and night.  Depending on your treatment we will advise you for how long and during what hours to wear them.
